This old-vine St. Laurent displays typical aromas of wild strawberries and subtle, sweet oak spices. It is distinctly Burgundian on the palate, silky with an elegant structure and plenty of finesse. The palate is very well-balanced with a lovely interplay of fruit and acidity, as well as finely integrated tannins.
90/100 - From vines almost 60 years old, the purple colored 2017 St Laurent Alte Reben is perfectly ripe, fresh and fruity on the elegant, pure and refined nose that unfurls red cherry, elderberry and dried blueberry aromas along with lovely milk chocolate aromas and refreshing stony notes. Silky, fresh and elegant on the palate, with a juicy, fruity texture, fine tannins and remarkable intensity, this is an impressively good St Laurent that is even fruitier than Pinot Noir and simply gorgeous today.
