Few winemakers have a better understanding of the Sonoma Coast than Jamie Kutch, who's been working this land for nigh on two decades. He uses every bit of that expertise when crafting this white, a sapid yet ethereal Chardonnay from a vineyard planted to Burgundian clones only 5km from the Pacific Ocean. The very first vintage from this site, this is a truly extraordinary example of cool-climate Chardonnay.
93-95/100 - The 2021 Chardonnay Bohan Vineyard Salt Point Block is insanely beautiful. It emerges from a parcel facing the Pacific Ocean planted with a range of suitcase clones. Here, in its first release, the Salt Point Block is so impressive. Rich, viscous and explosive, with remarkable complexity, the 2021 impresses with its mind-bending textural intensity and balance. On the palate, beautifully saline flavours of lemon pith and lemon oil mixed with quartz-like minerality. Crackling acidity leads to a long and delightful finish.
