This a wonderful example of Washington State Syrah. Grown in the famed Red Mountain AVA - the smallest and most prestigious AVA in the state - this single vineyard cuvée is full of enticing tart fruit and spice character. 2016 was an impressive harvest in this region, and this wine shows all the promise of a stellar vintage.
On the nose, an exciting bouquet of white pepper, cassis, dried blueberry, dried cherry. There is a touch of coffee and cocoa powder as well.
On the palate, it is lovely and rich with flavours of tart cherry, sweet orange peel, a touch of vanilla, and a fine tannin structure.
A perfect good wine, try with roast lamb, burgers, grilled ribs, or hearty soups.
