This wine is dense and rich, but like all Quintarelli's wines, never heavy or overbearing. It displays the tannic grip, beautiful acidity, concentration, and ripeness one expects from top tier Valpolicella, showing the skill and passion of a master craftsman. There is fruit, but the intrigue of this wine goes well beyond that - earthiness, forest scents, roses, cocoa powder, and minerality all make themselves known on the nose and palate.

93/100 - The 2015 Valpolicella Classico Superiore lifts up with unprecedented freshness as a beautiful mix of fresh cherries, cloves and cedar is complemented by rosy florals. This is a model of purity, slightly salty in character, with crisp red fruits and sweet spice nuances. It tapers off lightly structured and perfumed, leaving the palate perfectly reset as a tinge of minerality lingers. The warm vintage 2015 is complex yet finessed. This is a sumptuous wine, with the gritty extract conferred by the dried fruit component, albeit, with greater red fruited levity, floral lilt, freshness and drinkability than the Amarone.
