Clos de Betz is one of Washington's greatest red blends, a Merlot-dominant bottling sourced from estate vineyards across the Columbia Valley. Named in honour of the acclaimed Burgundy vineyard 'Clos de Beze,' this red blend exemplifies the terroir of its vineyards and the Merlot's unique expression in Washington.
Spiced led aromas of cardamom, cinnamon and five-spice. Complimented by notes of red fruit, black cherry, pomegranate, and raspberry on the palate.
The name 'Clos de Betz' originated when Bob and Cathy Betz were traveling in France in the 1970's. Where they realised their love for wine, and dream to have a wine called 'Clos de Betz' one day.
2015 Clos de Betz Merlot contains the highest percentage of Merlot yet. 75% Merlot 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot.
Drinks beautifully now but can cellar for a further 2-3 years.
Pair with roast leg of lamb, and fresh mint sauce.
