This bottling from Murgo - grown on the slopes of Sicily's Mount Etna and composed of 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Nerello Cappuccio - is beautifully fragrant with aromas of wild red fruits. It is aged, as the tradition in the region dictates, in chestnut barrels for 6-8 months. At its best young, juicy and served very lightly chilled, this red matches perfectly with rustic pasta dishes or a good pizza.

This wine expresses the true characteristics of Nerello Mascalese grown on the eastern slope of Etna. The specific microclimate is affected by the influence of the Ionian Sea, which contributes great finesse and elegant complexity to the balanced and refined flavors of this variety.
