France > Beaujolais > Régnié

Decades ago, Charly Thévenet helped reinvent Beaujolais by pioneering organic farming methods and conscientious viticulture. Now joined by his son Jean-Paul, these dynamic vignerons continue to hone their skill with each passing the vintage. This Régnié has always had great intensity and concentration, the product of ninety-year-old vines planted straight into granite bedrock. This vintage has an extra lightness and juiciness to it, resulting in one of the Thévenet's finest ever releases.

On the nose, powerful aromas of red and blue fruit coupled with expressive floral hints and touches of spice.

On the palate, round and ample with spice-tinged raspberry, cherry, and mulberry flavours. Uplifting freshness, silky tannins, and a clean and richly satisfying finish make this the ideal Cru Beaujolais.

Try pairing with roasted pork tenderloin with cherry glaze, beef carpaccio with rocket and parmesan, or grilled Portobello mushrooms with garlic and herbs.

Thevenet works a plot of extremely old vines in the Morgon appellation. The average age of the vines is 70 years and they are cultivated organically... Read More >>
