Donnachadh Sta. Rita Hills Estate Gamay 2020

Raspberry, black cherry candy, lilac, and tilled earth aromas of classic Gamay show on the nose. On the palate, bright acidity and a juicy burst of tart black cherry and raspberry flavors overlie stony minerality and moderate structure. Served with a light chill, this fresh and inviting Cru Beaujolais style wine goes with almost any meal.

92/100 - The 2020 Gamay Estate is bright, punchy and super-expressive. The purity of the flavors is compelling. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon and lifted floral accents lend character throughout. The 2019 is absolutely delicious and an unexpected surprise given that Gamay is not widely planted in the Sta. Rita Hills. Perhaps it should be. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous 

93/100 - The 2020 Gamay Estate was fermented with a small portion of whole clusters and matured 10 months in neutral French oak. Medium ruby-purple, it has inviting scents of blueberry, tangerine and red cherries, plus wafts of dried herbs and watermelon. The palate is chalky and fresh with concentrated berry fruits and mouth-watering acidity. It has the texture, brightness and fruitiness to work very well at the table. - Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate
