Rubicon is an Iconic Bordeaux style blend from the renowned South African winery Meerlust. Each vintage has slightly different blending proportions depending on the years weather conditions and the performance of the grapes. In years where there is more Merlot the wines are graceful and silky. In years where Cabernet Sauvignon dominates, more fruit intensity and power can be found.
Intense blackberry, and dark currant, layers of gentle oak and sweet spices.
The palate is structured, with plenty of dark berries and creamy vanilla, velvety tannins and a long finish.
Drinks beautifully now or tuck it away for an other 30 years.
Drink it with slow cooked rib of beef with homemade BBQ sauce.
