Château de Tourettes is French wine icon Jean-Marie Guffens-Heynen's project in the Southern Rhône. After growing discontent with the vacillating nature of Burgundy in the late 90s, he and his wife Maine decided to not only redefine this estate, but also showcase the untapped potential of the Luberon region. This Chardonnay opens with a lovely freshness, maintaining true varietal character. It is well balanced on the palate, with richness well-supported by a bracing acidity and fine notes of bitters.
On the nose, Intense, typical Chardonnay aromas. Delicate notes of apricot and flowers mingled with a perfectly integrated, finely toasted woodiness reveal themselves on aeration.
On the palate, the fresh, full-bodied structure combines precision and roundness in this remarkably dense wine.
Hand harvested. Aged 80% in barrels and 20% in stainless steel vats.
Serve as an aperitif or enjoy alongside seafood, fish, or white meat.
