The 2022 Queen of the Sierra Rosé was grown in the Rorick Heritage Estate Vineyard in Calaveras County at 600m elevation. Composed primarily of Mondeuse and Zinfandel - with cameos from Tempranillo, Grenache Noir, and Barbera - this is a truly unique pink. A cloudy red-rose color with noticeable sediment at the bottom, this cuvée is a pure expression of red and pink fruit.
On the palate, crackling acidity is balanced by a slight touch of tannin around the edges. The fruit is balanced yet intense, with flavours of melon, passion fruit, papaya, and red berries dominant. A touch of limestone minerality at the end tapers the finish to a satisfying end.
Pair with Latin cuisine, or share a glass on a hot summer afternoon.
