In this wine, François Merlin captures the essence of the Northern Rhône, reminiscent of a high-quality Crozes-Hermitage but without the price tag. Bursting with earthy blue fruits, smokey undertones, and a medley of herbs and florals, this Syrah thrives in a landscape defined by granite, schist, and decomposed gneiss soils. As an IGP Collines Rhodaniennes wine, it's sourced from the left bank of the Rhône, facing renowned AOCs like Condrieu and Côte Rôtie.
On the palate, flavours of red fruits with hints of snappy herbs, crushed violets, and undertones of crème de cassis and liquorice. There is a touch of minerality, alongside velvety tannins that pave the way to a long and lovely finish.
Best enjoyed on the younger side, drink now - 2028.
