Ebner-Ebenauer are one of Austria's foremost producers, renowned for their superb white and red wines crafted around their home village of Poysdorf. Having delved into sparkling wine in the past decade, they've quickly become regarded as Austria's finest producer of Blanc de Blancs and Blanc de Noirs. Cuvée Courage may just be their finest sparkling yet, a blend of the 2007, 2008, and 2009 vintages that aged on their lees for over a decade. A blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this is a bottle of sparkling so good its warranted comparison to those of Champagne masters like Jacques Selosse and Emmanuel Brochet. Singing with notes of pomelo zest. ripe apple, spice, tea, and fine nutty nuances, this wine is fresher than one can imagine for a wine well over a decade old. Stunning. 

95/100 - Based on a solera including the wines from the 2007, 2008 and 2009 harvest and disgorged in August 2023 after 12 years of bottle aging, the amber-golden colored NV Cuvée Courage Brut Nature Zero Dosage opens with a deep, pure, intense and fresh nose of stewed and dry stone fruit and orange-colored citrus fruits intermingled with brioche and beautifully matured reserve wines that add a charming oxidative touch. On the palate, this is a light yet intense, pure, fresh, elegant, finessed and vinous sparkling wine with very fine and gentle bubbles and a stimulatingly saline, well-structured, long, intense, textural finish. This is a fabulous, characterful sparkling wine for many occasions from the bubble king and queen of the Weinviertel, Manfred and Marion Ebner-Ebenauer. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork.
