The Saget family are renowned for their work in France's Loire region, owning and operating a number of estates producing wines in the region's varied terroir. This Menetou-Salon Blanc comes from one of their newest creations, Les Éclaireurs, a small-production label run by brothers Arnaud and Laurent, sons of the current proprietor. Focused on originality and creativity, the brothers seek out lesser-known wines in the Loire they feel deserve a bit more attention. This stunning Sauvignon Blanc is one example, sourced from the region of Menetou-Salon, southwest of Sancerre. An expressive, lively, and racy Sauvignon, this organic beauty is alive with elegant notes of citrus, acacia blossom, and flint.
On the palate, a beautifully weighted, vibrant Sauvignon. Refreshing yet equipped with enough body to hold up to any sort of light cuisine, the electrifying citrus and orchard fruit flavours make this a wonderful white for any occasion. A distinct streak of that hallmark, flinty minerality leads the way to a surprisingly long finish.
