Maxime Magnon Corbières Rozeta Magnum 2021

In the Hautes-Corbières, a mountainous region of the Languedoc found between Narbonne and Perpignan, Maxime Magnon found a treasure: ancient vineyard parcels in steep, rocky soils destined to be abandoned, as local farmers were unwilling to break their backs for tiny yields of grapes that would inevitably get lost in the town co-op’s blend. Since taking control of these rustic, old vine parcels in the early-2000s, Maxime has helped rehabilitate the image of the Corbières, working with his century-old vines to craft perfumed, alluring wines from local varieties. Rozeta is a blend of 35% Carignan, 30% Cinsault, and 35% Grenache, which practically sings with notes of strawberry, spices, and garrigue. Drinking beautifully now but capable of ageing for up to 10 years, Rozeta is a superb wine that perfectly encapsulates the diligent work and faultless winemaking of Maxime.
