Blending fruit from the Mountain Estate and Rutherford Estate vineyards, this wine is a tribute to the noble Merlot grape and its ability to thrive in Napa Valley. It is a Merlot for claret lovers, with an almost Old World character: meaty, savoury and herbal, with fine tannins and refreshing acidity. This is not a wine for those seeking a bombastic, super-plush style of Napa, but its restraint makes it exceptionally enjoyable and versatile at the table. We recommend decanting before serving.

The sweet red fruit nose is abundant with fresh cherry, raspberry and a hint of Bourbon vanilla. Plum and a very light cedar note emerge on the palate. Generous acidity and long soft tannins result in a lingering freshness.
