Julien Sunier is one of the most acclaimed names in Beaujolais, having wowed critics and consumers alike since his first vintage in 2008. A dedicated proponent of sustainable agro-ecology, his wines are defined by their elegance and striking sense of place. His Fleurie is sourced from a 1.7ha plot of Gamay vines, ranging in age from 25-60 years old. Carbonically macerated and aged in used Burgundy barrels, this red impresses with its lovely and pure aromatics of violets, red berries, and granitic minerality. A shining example of what 'natural' wine can be, this is a sophisticated and complex red with just a touch of wildness around the edges.
