Chenin Blanc
Clotilde Legrand
France > Loire > Anjou-Saumur
Made from 100% Chenin Blanc, this is the only white wine that Clotilde produces. Harvested carefully by hand, from organic vines, it is a clean and fleshy white that perfectly bridges the gap between winter and spring drinking.

Pale yellow in color, the nose offers up notes of citrus confit, pear and honey with an exotic edge. In the mouth, the wine seems initially warm and rich with dried fruit and nuts in abundance. These give way to a crisp structure with nice mineral notes and just a hint of sweetness on the back end.
These are some of the greatest terroir in the region of Saumur in the Loire Valley that are rooted to the clay and limestone soils and tempered by Atlantic breezes, warmer winters and cooler summers.
This estate comprises 14 hectares of Cabernet Franc and one hectare of Chenin Blanc planted along the gentle slopes and hillsides of Saumur, Dampierre, Chacé, Varrains and Champigny.
Drink now, or keep for a couple more years.
Enjoy with an asparagus and goats cheese tart.
