Savennières is, perhaps, the world's most hallowed ground for dry Chenin Blanc, and this example from Clos Galerne ranks amongst the greatest we've ever tried. Sourced from centenarian vines grown on a beautiful 2ha parcel of well-drained green schist and sandstone, this is a highly concentrated and intensely flavoured white. Spicy and packed with layer after layer of honey, pear, apple, and citrus, this wine speaks to the ever-increasing prestige of Anjou white.
On the palate, a resonant core of orange supported by flavours of honeycomb, stone, lemon curd, candied pineapple, and lime zest. Dry with a lovely, long finish.
