Bergström is amongst the States' finest producers of Burgundy varieties. This cuvée is named for the French word for 'silica' - the shiny quartz found in sand - as Silice is grown in the deepest and sandiest soils of any Bergström's vineyards. The fruit sees all-day, unrelenting sun exposure and strong winds that give the Pinot Noir spicy and powerful notes of gingerbread, cola and sassafras, with a mild savory hint and a pretty floral lift. The 2020 is one of the finest expressions of this wine ever crafted.
92/100 - Medium ruby-purple, the 2020 Pinot Noir Silice Vineyard is scented of sour cherries, dried herbs, oolong tea leaves and watermelon. On the palate, this wine is full of blueberry and blackberry flavours. A distinctly silky note of oak is present, as is noticeable minerality.
