The Watson Ranch vineyard is perched on a steep hillside in Napa's Coombsville region, overlooking the southern fringes of San Pablo Bay. Located atop of former limestone quarry, the combination of the sites cool climate and calcareous clay over limestone soil type made it the ideal location for producing Loire Valley-style Cabernet Franc in California. This a light and vibrantly aromatic Cabernet Franc (coming in at just 11% ABV!), loaded with spicy notes of briary fruit. The most singular and unique expression of Cab Franc we've ever come across in Napa, this is a must-try wine for any lover of the Loire Valley.
On the palate, light-bodied, chalky, and vibrant with perfumed flavours and a long, nuanced finish. Transparent, crunchy, and fresh, this is much closer to a Loire-style Cabernet Franc than anything else we've found in California.
