93/100 - The 2024 Syrah (Sonoma Coast) is a total bomb. Inky dark fruit, lavender, black pepper, menthol and licorice literally jump from the glass. This racy, explosive Syrah delivers the goods, and then some. There's a bit more Clary Ranch in this year's blend, not a bad thing at all, in my view. The Syrah grapes for this wine are sourced from three vineyards along the wide-ranging Sonoma Coast, including celebrated Clary Ranch and their own flagship Que Syrah vineyard.
Grapes were harvested between mid-October and early November. Each site was harvested and vinified separately, before being blended together. It was indigenous yeast fermented with whole clusters and matured for nine months in used French oak, with minimal SO2 additions at bottling.
