Lirac is a Southern Rhône wine region found on the western side of the Rhône River, just a stones' throw away from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This is a juicy and vibrant iteration of the region, produced by sibling-duo Marie & Francois Giraud at their organic estate in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Crafted from 60-year-old vines, this is a typical blend of of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 20% Mourvèdre. Bright, fresh, and wondefully aromatic, this is a lithe and agile red (despite its 14.5% ABV) brimming with notes of juicy red fruit. A delicious alternative to Châteauneuf.
93/100 - This impressive Lirac deftly combines southern power and stony freshness with stacks of fine tannins, licorice- and autumn-leaf complexity and ripe cassis character. On the palate, lots od depth yet juicy with impeccable balanced and a fine thread of acidity that lasts to the very finish. This is a very long, very complex red full of red fruit flavours with notes of spice.
