iTerlano is undoubtedly the most famous name in Northern Italian winemaking, having made wine in the Alto Adige since 1893. Renowned for their wines of unrivalled purity and character, their whites rank amongst the greatest made anywhere in the world. This is their 'Quarz' Sauvignon, a wonderfully exotic take on one of the world's most popular white grapes. Sourced from a south-facing vineyard planted atop quartz porphyry bedrock, this white sings with notes of tropical fruits and crushed rock minerality. Aged on its lees for 9 months in 50% large wooden casks and 50% stainless steel, this is a medium-bodied Sauvignon capable of ageing for up to a decade.
17+/20 - Pale brilliant straw. Lifted nose of greengage with just hints of gooseberry and saline notes. Greengage and lemon palate with mouth-watering acidity but this is not austere or thin at all.
