U.S.A. > California > Sonoma
The single vineyard, Falstaff, lies about 8 miles from the Pacific Ocean on Falstaff Road. This cool climate vineyard means the Falstaff Pinot Noir is always the last picked vineyard of the season and bares the smallest yield, creating an intense, well balanced style of Pinot Noir.
93/100 - The 2021 Pinot Noir Falstaff Vineyard is linear and finely cut. Crushed flowers, spice, chalk, mint and rose petals all meld together in this nuanced Pinot. The Falstaff is a wine of vibrant energy more than anything else. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous
17/20 - Transparent crimson. Still very restrained nose with the merest hint of tamarind. Really textured and spreads all across the palate with grip and yet there is masses of tightly focused fruit with even a little bit of blackcurrant – rare for a Pinot Noir. Very pure indeed – great precision! And, unlike the general Sonoma Coast blend, this does not seem to be dominated by whole-bunch character. A real pleasure already. - Jancis Robinson

When Jamie Kutch traded the high-octane world of Wall Street for the rolling vineyards of California in 2005, many raised an eyebrow. But skepticism turned to acclaim when his debut Pinot Noir notched an impressive 93 points in Wine Spectator. Jamie honed his skills alongside industry giants: he worked at Sonoma’s esteemed Kosta Browne and gained invaluable insights from Aubert... Read More >>
