U.S.A. > California > Chalone

Grown in the Chalone Mountains at 550m of elevation, this Melon de Bourgogne is one of the most interesting California wines we've seen in quite some time. An exceedingly rare variety in California, this white is crafted in the refreshing style reminiscent of the Eastern Loire Valley. Loaded with fresh character, the Melon in this cuvée benefits tremendously from a kiss of California sunshine.

On the nose, aromas of sea breeze, green apple, Asian pear, and lemon zest.
On the palate, mouth-watering acidity coupled with oyster shell minerality.

Perfect with a plate of oysters, this white will also pair brilliantly with light seafood dishes like ceviche or butter-poached lobster.

- Antonio Galloni

Jolie-Laide started out as a one-man operation based in Sebastopol, California. In his first vintage, Scott Schultz made 500 cases of wine and has slowly ramped that up to about 3000 cases. Today, it is a family affair... Read More >>
