France > Burgundy > Meursault

This Meursault is sourced from the Les Tillets lieu-dit, a souht-east facing site found on a high-elevation extremity of the appellation. Domaine Javillier farms six parcels in this vineyard, varying in age between 30-70 years old and planted atop brown limestone and patches of clay and hard limestone. Fermented in entirely in oak, of which 30% is new, Javillier's Les Tillets is a typically finessed Chardonnay chock full of bright citrus and white flower notes.

17.5/20 - Struck match, but delicate. So much fruit, so much thrill. This is kaleidoscopic and pixelated with flavour. Brimming over and crackling with acidity and energy and also satin ribbons of texture. You could drink it now for the breath-gasping adrenalin of the ski run, or you could wait for the magnificence and stature to unfold.  - Tamlyn Currin, JancisRobinson.com

92/100 - Mid lemon yellow, with a most attractive ripe fruit nose, still with its characteristic hint of lime blossom. Splendid energy on the palate, with a hillside thread providing limestone clarity, and just a little fresh pepper at the finish. In bottle. Drink from 2027-2031. Tasted Dec 2024. - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

91/100 - The 2023 Meursault Les Tillets has a stonier, more reserved bouquet than the Clos du Cromin, with light petrichor and beeswax scents. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a keen thread of acidity, more linear yet more energetic than other cuvées. This is very promising. - Neal Martin, Vinous

90/100 - An airy, ripe and elegant combination of spice, white flower, exotic tea and petrol precede overtly stony, detailed and highly refined middle weight flavors that display fine length on the impeccably well-balanced finale. This is textbook Tillets, which is to say a wine of finesse that could be enjoyed young or with 6 to 9 years of keeping. Recommended as well. - Allen Meadows, Burghound

On the nose, a characteristically alluring bouquet with overtones of white flowers, white and yellow fruit, and a slight spicy note. On the whole complex and very elegant.

On the palate, it is full-bodied, vigorous, and mineral-driven with a fine aromatic freshness. A delicate wine, it has a long finish and a certain underlying robustness. Its style may be described as between a classic Meursault and a typical Puligny-Montrachet.

Drink 2026 - 2038.
