Formed through the union of two famed Champenois families in the 1980s, Gimonnet-Gonet is now headed by twins Charles and Anne-Sophie, with the former taking charge of viticulture and the latter winemaking. L'Identité is a Grand Cru bottling crafted entirely from Chardonnay sourced from the regions of Cramant, Le Mesnil sur Oger, and Chouilly. An extra brut Champagne, with a dosage of just 1.5g/L, this is a very mineral sparkling, with alluring aromas of brioche, roasted hazelnut, and lemon cream.
On the palate, it is marked by incredible depth and richness alongside a crackling acidity. Wonderfully long and complex with dominant flavours of lemon cream and almond, this is a superb white.
