This Merlot-dominant blend comes from decades-old vines in the excellent value region of Lalande-de-Pomerol. Defined by a delightful black fruit character and silky tannins, it is reminiscent of the many great wines found just down the road in Pomerol. A 2010 botting, this is an excellent opportunity to secure a bottle of aged Claret at an exceptional price.
90/100 - The 2010 Chambrun comes from a vineyard of almost 18 acres that had incredibly small yields for a satellite appellation – 21 hectoliters per hectare. The final blend of 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc has resulted in an undeniable sleeper of the vintage with loads of chocolaty fudge, espresso, blackberry and kirsch notes. It is a rich, sumptuous, full-bodied, delicious wine bottled without fining or filtration and another Right Bank wine that hit 15% natural alcohol. - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
