Francois d'Allaines Rully 1er Cru La Fosse 2024

Maison François d’Allaines is a benchmark boutique négociant and grower estate in Demigny, a few kilometres east of Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet. Deliberately avoiding heavily extracted or oak-dominated styles, he relies on low yields, optimal fruit ripeness and neutral barrels to craft pure, refined wines underpinned by chalky minerality.

His Rully 1er Cru La Fosse comes from the eponymous vineyard. Situated on a southeast-facing slope rich in Kimmeridgian limestone, this premier cru lends the wine a slightly richer, more exotic profile than its village-level Rully counterpart, while retaining impressive detail and precision. The nose offers perfectly ripe peach, lemon and Pink Lady apple notes, alongside subtle oak. On the palate, it is generous and fleshy, with concentrated fruit nicely balanced by refreshing acidity. The finish is long and pure. As with the village Rully, d’Allaines appears to have found an ideal equilibrium in the 2024 vintage.
