Ebner-Ebenauer are one of the best producers found anywhere in Austria, impressive vintage after vintage with their wines of stunning precision and aromatic complexity. This delicious Grüner Veltliner is produced from a single vineyard site, 'Hermanschachern', which mirrors the soils of Chablis; rich in ancient fossils and oyster shells. Full-bodied with great acidity, the juicy fruit notes and alluring minerality of this wine speak elegantly of place. A veritable Grand Cru of Austrian wine, this is not a white to miss.
95/100 - The 2023 Grüner Veltliner Hermanschachern was grown on loess with limestone from an ancient coral reef, made in stainless steel. The nose immediately booms with pepper, crushed chervil and arugula. The palate is smooth, brims with salty yeastiness and vivid peppery savor.
