Bright ruby with effusive aromas of crushed red cherry, cola, rubbed sage, and Mediterranean tapenade show on the nose of this Santa Rita Hills AVA bottling from Donnachadh. Fresh acidity buoys tart cherry and red raspberry flavors from the start of the sip with notes of gentle black tea and earth joining on the elegant finish. Complex without pretence, this is an approachable, food friendly wine that pairs easily with meat, fish, or veggies.
91/100 - The 2023 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills) is a total delight. Fresh, aromatic and very pretty, the 2023 is all class. Freshly cut flowers, red-toned fruit, orange peel, spice, mint and white pepper soar out of the glass. This deceptively medium-bodied Pinot is such a charmer. Medium-bodied, fresh, and focused, it offers integrated acidity in a pure, polished style that's very pretty and finesse-driven. It's ready to go and will keep for 4-6 years.
