Domaine Guerrin Saint-Véran Le Clos Vessat 2023

From a two-hectare, clay-limestone parcel in Leynes with a south-southwest exposure, this Chardonnay benefits from early ripening, resulting in a richly flavoured and generously textured wine. Fermented in stainless-steel vats only to preserve the Chardonnay’s freshness and purity, it is then aged for nine months on its fine lees.

Citrus and acacia flower lead the nose, followed by ripe yellow and white-fleshed fruit. On the palate, the wine is rounded and supple, with fresh pear and peach, a subtle hazelnut note and a smooth, gently creamy finish.

A delicious apéritif, it also pairs beautifully with veal, roast chicken or other white meats. Enjoy it young for its fruit and freshness, though it will hold well for five to six years.
