This Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay comes from Arnot-Roberts, the pioneering winemaking duo leading the 'New California' movement. High in natural acidity thanks to the cool, high altitude climate of Trout Gulch this wine has strong minerality and a noticeable salinity on the palate.
93/100 - The 2023 Chardonnay Trout Gulch Vineyard is quite an exotic wine. The long growing season yielded an unusually exuberant Chardonnay with notable oiliness but fewer of the intensely saline notes that are often such a signature here.
