Domaine Bzikot is a family-run domaine currently headed by Sylvain, whose grandfather moved to Burgundy from Poland prior to the onset of World War II. Joined by his son, Quentin, they craft beautifully elegant, terroir-focused wines in their cellar near Puligny-Montrachet. Fermented and aged traditionally in small French oak barrels for 12 months, it is a typical, generous Meursault with an excellently textured palate.
On the palate, tropical fruit, lemon and hazelnuts dominate from the start but the wine finishes with lovely elegant notes.
Vinified in a mixture of stainless steel and new oak barrels before ageing for 14 months in oak barrel. This may sound excessive but the result is an opulent expression of Chardonnay with magical balance between fruit, oak and acidity.
Excellent now, enjoy this white within the next 3-4 years.
Perfect with richer fish like salmon or even lobster. Can pair well with roast chicken and poultry or Mushroom-based dishes.
