Long Meadow Ranch Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2018

In 2015, the Hall family of Long Meadow Ranch in Napa Valley acquired a stunning estate in Anderson Valley. Their goal was clear: to craft refined Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with the same thoughtful, organic, and terroir-driven philosophy that defines their Napa Valley wines.

To lead this new chapter, they appointed French winemaker Stéphane Vivier, who has overseen the LMR Anderson Valley wines since 2015. Vivier brought nearly two decades of experience from Hyde de Villaine, the California project of Aubert de Villaine. His deep understanding of cool-climate viticulture and Burgundian techniques has been instrumental in revealing the full potential of Anderson Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

The region benefits from the strong maritime influence of the nearby Pacific Ocean, which moderates temperatures and extends the growing season. This long, even ripening period allows the grapes to develop expressive aromatics, vibrant natural acidity, and moderate alcohol levels - hallmarks of balanced, elegant wines.

Now, after nearly seven years in bottle, the Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2018 is entering a particularly compelling phase. Savoury layers of umami, forest floor and delicate earthy spice have begun to emerge, while the wine retains its hallmark freshness, lift and poise.
