Grown on the sunlit hills of Burgenland, Gerhard Pittnauer’s Heideboden Blaufränkisch is a masterful expression of one of Austria’s most beloved indigenous varieties. One of Central Europe’s foremost winemakers, Gerhard expertly balances the warmth of the Pannonian climate with the Burgenland’s cooling breezes in this superb red, crafting a wine of precision and depth. Fresh and taut with juicy red fruit flavours, this wine is a window into the growing excellence of Austrian red wines. On the palate, it’s fresh and taut, with juicy fruit flavours framed by fine-grained tannins and a lively acidity. Saline undertones and a long, spiced finish complete the experience.
