A standout Pinot Noir from Germany’s Rheinhessen, this organically farmed estate bottling comes from two vineyards  planted in 1984 on calcareous marl (Kalkmergel) soils. After natural fermentation, the wine rests for a minimum of 12 months in a combination of small French oak barriques and large oak vats, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve texture and purity.

The nose offers bright red berry aromas - think raspberry and wild strawberry - layered with dried flowers, subtle spice, and a hint of savoury, meaty complexity. On the palate, it’s supple and juicy, with crunchy red fruit and savoury flavours balanced by lifting acidity. Best enjoyed lightly chilled, this is exceptional-value German Pinot Noir punching well above its price point.
