Crafted by Austrian-trained Santa Barbara native Graham Tatomer, this wine is exclusively sourced from the biodynamically farmed, granite-based La Estancia Vineyard in California's Santa Lucia Highlands. A dry expression of Riesling, this bottle is practically bursting with intense fruit and minerality. Not a wine to miss out on!
91/100 - The 2023 Riesling Steinhügel, or "rock pile" in German, is intensely floral and resembles Gewürztraminer on the nose, with aromas of rose water, petrichor and white peach beaming from the glass. On the palate, plenty of lingering texture with a lively acidity and distinct minerality courtesy of the decomposed granite soils. Flavours of mandarin and pear abound.
