Ridge is one of America's great wine producers, and this, their Three Valleys Zinfandel-based blend, is an excellent and affordable introduction to their wines. Sourced from ten vineyards across (strangely, given the name) four valleys in Sonoma County, Zinfandel defines the varietal character of the wine while old-vine Carignan offers bright fruit and acidity, with Petite Sirah adding spice, depth of flavour, and appealingly firm tannins.

On the nose, alluring aromas of toasted oak, strawberry jam, mixed berry pie, black tea, and baking spice.
On the plate, layered flavours of black and blue fruit with touches of milk chocolate, cherry, and garrigue. Well-textured tannins are balanced by a pleasing acidity, leading to lingering finish.
