Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Saint-Aubin Hommage a Marguerite 2022

Since the early 2000s, when Pierre-Yves Colin and Caroline Morey began bottling their own wines, PYCM has gained cult status, defined by a chiselled and smoky signature style. A reductive approach in the cellar brings remarkable precision and energy to the wines, alongside their hallmark gunflint note, perfectly complemented by the natural richness from top-quality fruit. A style that has come to define the finest modern white Burgundy.

The 2022 vintage is another success for Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, in style somewhat reminiscent, at this early stage, of the estate's 2020s. As ever, picking tends to be on the early side with a view to retaining freshness. This cuvée has been a blend of Perrières, Combes, Créots and PItangerets since 2016, all pressed and vinified together, and effectively covers all the possible exposures of St-Aubin. 

Opening in the glass with aromas of white flowers, pear, crisp green apple, oatmeal and praline, the 2022 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Hommage à Marguerite is medium to full-bodied, with a satiny attack that segues into a fleshy core of fruit framed by chalky dry extract. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
