Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Saint-Aubin 2022

Since the early 2000s, when Pierre-Yves Colin and Caroline Morey began bottling their own wines, PYCM has gained cult status, defined by a chiselled and smoky signature style. A reductive approach in the cellar brings remarkable precision and energy to the wines, alongside their hallmark gunflint note, perfectly complemented by the natural richness from top-quality fruit. A style that has come to define the finest modern white Burgundy.

The 2022 vintage is another success for Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, in style somewhat reminiscent, at this early stage, of the estate's 2020s. As ever, picking tends to be on the early side with a view to retaining freshness. 

The 2022 Saint-Aubin Village has turned out nicely, bursting with aromas of pear, freshly baked bread, hazelnuts and white flowers. Medium-bodied, fleshy and vibrant, it's a charming, nicely balanced wine that concludes with a saline finish. Lieu-dit Le Banc, formerly bottled as such, makes up some 80% of the blend. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
