Mayacamas's Cabernet Sauvignon is an absolutely stunning example of great Californian Cabernet. This is a worthy rival to any claret. All the fruit from Mayacamas estate are certified organic.
Incredibly pure, intense blackcurrant fruit flavour; cedar aromas; complex earthy character.
The vineyards range from 1,800 to 2,400 feet above sea-level.
The soils on Mount Veeder where the vines are planted are a mixture of ash, tufa and sedimentary soils.
A wine that will improve with at least five years ageing.
A big wine requires a big dish to stand up to it- try it with marinated lamb chops.
