France > Languedoc-Roussillon > Corbières

In the Hautes-Corbières, a mountainous region of the Languedoc found between Narbonne and Perpignan, Maxime Magnon found a treasure: ancient vineyard parcels in steep, rocky soils destined to be abandoned thanks to the creeping influence of co-ops. Since taking control of these rustic, old vine parcels in the early-2000s, Maxime has helped rehabilitate the image of the Corbières, working with his century-old vines to craft perfumed, alluring wines from local varieties. Métisse is a stunning rosé crafted from 60% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, and 20% Cairgnan. Enchantingly aromatic, expect vibrant notes of red cherry, sweet spices, wild herbs, and sea salt.

On the nose, perfumed aromatics of red currant, wildstrawberry, sour cherry, sweet spice, and garrigue.

On the palate, pretty and delicate with a salivating acidity and light to medium weight. Flavours of ripe red fruits burst across the palate with an appealing richness and delightful tannins.

Burgundian by birth, Maxime Magnon’s prodigious talent was not the product of a childhood spent running through the vines of a family estate. Born not to a vigneron, négociant, or winemaker, Maxime honed his skills through years spent working at some of France’s finest wineries: first under Jean Foillard in Morgon, and... Read More >>
