Mas d'Amile Terrasses du Larzac Le Clos 2022

Le Clos is one of Mas d’Amile’s smallest-production cuvées, made from a single, walled vineyard of just 0.9 hectares. Planted to Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, this parcel lies on the plain between Mont Saint-Baudille and the Mediterranean, in the village of Montpeyroux.

Biodynamically farmed and blessed with a sunny south‑easterly aspect and a cooling northerly wind, Le Clos is the estate’s most complex and layered wine, capturing the essence of Montpeyroux with pronounced aromatics of spice, garrigue, and succulent notes of dark fruits and olive tapenade. Robust without excess weight, its palate is fleshy and generous yet finely balanced, with soft tannins and a long, lingering finish.

95/100 - Tonic, young, and dense, still a little reserved, the 2022 Terrasses Du Larzac Le Clos is still developing its amplitude. A blend of 40% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache Noir, and 30% Syrah aged for 18 months in 600-liter barrels, the fruitiness is already apparent, with blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry accompanied by spices and floral notes, which intertwine with the freshness and velvety tannins. Perfectly structured, with well-integrated woody notes, its texture is quite tight while remaining inspiringly juicy.
