Since assuming control of the winery from her late husband, Seth, Magan Kunin has continued to produce some of the Central Coast's finest bottlings of Rhône varieties. Her 2020 Santa Barbara County Syrah is one such example, loaded with cool climate lightness yet laden with depth and spice, this is a wonderful iteration of California Syrah at its most refined.
93/100 - The 2020 Syrah Santa Barbara County has deep black cherry, currant and blueberry aromas with accents of powdered sugar, charcuterie, violet and spearmint. The full-bodied palate has concentrated, youthfully gregarious fruit, yet it's light on its feet with finely chalky tannins and vibrant acidity.
