Based in Sonoma County, Kistler Vineyards was established in 1978 by Mark Bixler and Steve Kistler, with a vision to produce exceptional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines. They have a portfolio of ten vineyard-designated Chardonnay wines and four vineyard-designated Pinot Noir wines which represent some of California's finest expressions of these Burgundian varieties.
The Pinot Noir fruit for this cuvée is grown on one of the rare uplifts or red, older iron oxide driven soils in this area of Sonoma, which impart this wine its unique character.
94/100 - Medium ruby in color, the 2020 Pinot Noir Cuvée Natalie Silver Belt Vineyard offers dynamic aromas of cranberries and blueberries with touches of orange peel, lilac and pencil shavings. Medium body with crisp red fruit flavours and attractive herbal notes.
The tannins are fine-textured, the acidity is seamless, and it finishes long and layered.
After whole berry native fermentation with gentle extraction and using only free run juice, the wine is matured for 10 months in French oak (35% new) and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
