Sweet floral notes, blood orange and spice add shades of nuance to a core of dark red berry fruit. This will age but there is no need to wait too long as the sides are already smoothed out. A great entry point to Rubicon, showing how carefully Inglenook walks the line between richly powerful concentrated Cabernet and a fresher lean style of wine. On the nose, alluring and inviting notes of blackberry brambles, black cherry, truffle, fennel, and cocoa.
On the palate, tightly woven structure with fine, round, velvety tannins. Touches of vanilla and licorice arise during the long, generous finish. Superb balance and freshness.
