Le Grand Noir is a long-time favourite brand of Roberson customers, offering excellent French wines at an exceedingly affordable price point. This is their first foray into alcohol-free wine, and is the greatest in the category we've yet tried. While most alcohol-free wine is little more than cloyingly sweet fruit juice, this wine starts it's life the same as any Grand Noir wine, being traditionally farmed and vinified in the Minervois. The real magic occurs after vinification, when state-of-the-art vacuum distillation technology (the same used in Guinness 0.0) removes all the alcohol without stripping any flavour, texture, or complexity. This is their red, a 50/50 blend of Grenache and Pinot Noir. Bursting with flavours of ripe red summer fruits and a touch of oak spice, it stands head and shoulders above its competitors. Not just superb as an alcohol-free wine, this is a simply fantastic bottle of red.
