Grand Bateau is a delightful Claret born from a collaboration between esteemed négociant Maison Barrière and Château Beychevelle. Produced since the 1980s, this red is a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, vinified in both oak barrels and stainless steel vats, to retain freshness. This is an elegant and well-structured red that shines with aromas of red fruits, spice and blackcurrant leaf. Expressive and rounded on the palate, this is one of the best value clarets we've tasted in recent years.
On the palate, velvety tannins are balanced by juicy fruit flavours and a delightful acidity. Wonderfully balanced and outstanding value.
